Project successfully commissioned in Germany

Holland-Controls has successfully commissioned another project in Germany. At a power plant in Ludwigshafen, we implemented an engineered solution for a Solar Taurus60 SoLoNOx gas turbine, enabling the unit to run on dual-fuel operation.

This long-time client reached out to Holland-Controls for the dual-fuel addition to make sure their gas turbine is future proof. In an ever-changing energy market and having the flexibility in daily operations, being able to switch between gas and diesel has become a necessary addition to their existing turbine.

The installation-, fitting-, pipe work and connection of new electronically controlled Fuel- and Splitter valves, was executed by Ed Stokkentreeff. The electrical installation, cabling and panel preparation was done by our new and youngest engineers on board, Mevlid Yildirim and Manaswini Motheram.

All of it supervised by our senior controls engineer Hennie Tempelman who successfully tested and commissioned the new set-up by uploading the amended fuel control software and valve curves into the Siemens S7-300 PLC. (Previously upgraded by Holland-Controls some 15 years ago.)

The new system ensures that the NOx and CO emission levels are well within the legal limits for Germany – in full-load and part-load operation, and for both fuels.
