The Holland-Controls Services team has successfully supported a valued customer in the Irish Sea with the recommissioning of a critical gas compression unit that had been out of operation for 2.5 years.
The installation consists of an RB211 gas compression system in a Ruston’s package, controlled by an Allen Bradley ControlLogix system with RS Logix 5000 software and coupled to a DeLaval-Stork compressor. Restoring this unit required extensive diagnostics, repairs, testing and software configuration to ensure it was fully prepared for a safe and reliable restart.
While the recommissioning work was underway, the customer’s operations depended entirely on a second gas compression unit running on a legacy Texas Instruments 505 control system. Maintaining the availability of this ageing system was essential to ensure uninterrupted gas compression throughout the project.
Over the past six months, our engineers combined the recommissioning activities with ongoing service and support for the operational unit. By carefully planning maintenance activities and responding quickly where needed, the team maximised uptime and helped the customer maintain reliable operations during this critical period.
With the recommissioned unit now ready to return to service, the customer benefits from renewed operational redundancy, improved reliability and increased confidence in the continuity of their gas compression process.
