Two legacy En-Tronic Controls LVDT (Linear Variable Differential Transformer) signal conditioning modules from were returned to HC Services for testing. These modules are still being used to control the fuel metering valves on Siemens SGT-A20 gas compression packages operating in the North Sea for one of our valued customers.
The LVDT modules are used to convert the 4-20mA output from the units FT100 fuel control system into a +/-60mA drive output to the servo of the Parker hydraulic fuel valve actuator, and provide the excitation source and valve position feedback signal conditioning for the LVDT on the valve back into a 4-20mA input to the control system.

HC Services has comprehensively tested these module in our workshop in Louth. A full calibration of the servo drive output was performed using a 4-20mA source, and a functional test of the LVDT position feedback circuits was achieved by connecting the LVDT on a Whittaker electric fuel metering valve to the module and using HC-DRIVE to stroke test the valve through its range of operation.
A test report was issued allowing the modules to be confidently returned to our customer’s working spare parts inventory.
